Acrylmeric Epoxacote FC Floor Coating 20 L Kit = $700.73 gst included. This kit includes Part A & Part B.
ACRYLMERIC® Epoxacote® is a range of , Epoxy Floor Coatings hard-wearing, scratch-resistant, high-build floor coatings and ancillary products for sealing and protecting factory floors, cool rooms and industrial applications such as food and beverage processing areas.
All surfaces to be coated are to be free of loose mortar, dirt, grease, loose paint and any other foreign matter, which may prevent successful adhesion.
New concrete surfaces must be allowed to cure minimum 28 days. All concrete surfaces should be sand-blasted, mechanically abraded or acid etched and then neutralised, and to a good standard of dry prior to application of the coating.
All cracks and holes exceeding 2mm must be filled with a suitable epoxy putty or filler, or epoxy mortar. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF FILLER. Refer to Fingertens Pty Ltd for details.
Before mixing, read all instructions and ensure availability of stirring equipment, clean rags and a watch. Add all of Part B (1 VOL) to Part A (4 VOLS) then using a broad flat stirring paddle, mix thoroughly with a circular, lifting action for 2-3 minutes. Alternatively, a mechanical stirrer (heavy duty slow speed electric drill) may be used; in this case, 2-3 minutes should suffice.
Ensure that material around sides and on the bottom is thoroughly incorporated. Any residual hardener that has drained to the bottom of the Part B tin should be added using a flat stirrer and thoroughly incorporated. After thorough mixing, allow to stand for 15 minutes induction time, then remix quickly including side scraping, before commencing application.
NOTE- thorough mixing and induction time are both critical. Failure to observe the above will result in sub-optimal reaction between epoxy resin and hardener. This may compromise curing of the painted film, impairing longer term performance and durability.
Application may be by Brush, Roller or Airless Spray. For application by airless spray, minimum nozzle pressure of 2,000 psi (143 bar) with an tip size of 0.66 mm has been found suitable. Prior masking of adjacent surfaces is a prerequisite for spray application. The product may be thinned with Solvent A (maximum 5% by volume) to improve substrate penetration, for the first coat only.
Surface type and texture and condition will affect the coverage rate. Typical Coverage is 5-7 m2/L per coat. This equates to a Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of 125-175 microns per coat.
POT LIFE of mixed material @25°C is approx 1 hour at 4 litre volume, longer at lower ambient temperatures and shorter at higher temperatures. Ensure material is kept away from heat and out of direct sunlight, particularly during summer. Failure to protect product from ambient heat can dramatically reduce pot-life.
Material can be over-coated after 16 hours under normal summer conditions, 24 hours in normal winter conditions. Areas that have been previously coated and found damaged can be readily over-coated. The existing surface must be well abraded to ensure good bond. Do not recoat after 24 hours without lightly abrading the surface of the prior coat, so as to ensure optimum adhesion.
2-4 years if stored in a cool, dry place in unopened containers.
SAFETY DIRECTIONS:
Thoroughly read the MSDS before commencing any application. Keep away from children. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin and avoid
breathing vapour. Always wear adequate personal protection (gloves and goggles etc) when mixing or using. Always provide adequate
ventilation, especially in confined areas.
EPOXACOTE FC is a flammable liquid. Avoid any source of heat or naked flames near open containers.
FIRST AID: If poisoning occurs, call a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Phone 13 11 26) or a doc. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give plenty of milk or water. If skin or eye contact occurs, quickly remove contaminated clothing and wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and water.
